Glacier Perito Moreno 是全球其中一個最活躍的冰川！到底該怎樣理解「活躍」？因為實在太勁，所以要先給點背景資料。
這個冰川位於阿根廷，形成之初是一個山谷，從太平洋吹來的潮濕空氣被安第斯山脈擋住，令智利一面多雨，濕氣再上升越過山脈，由於温度更低，在山谷下起大雪，每年下雪6,000毫米，就像在碗內一直倒忌亷，倒到滿瀉！
這個冰川形成已過百萬年，以前更大，由於全球暖化，所有冰川都日漸後移，Moreno 覆蓋面積之大相等於整個布宜諾斯艾利斯！冰川最前端共寬5千米，分南北兩面，呈箭頭形，高60米，伸入湖中，前端有時會接上「麥哲倫半島」。
冰川的形成是由山頂的積雪重量形成壓力，令雪的密度不斷增加變成超高密度的冰塊，再受不住就會往下移動。另一股力量是冰底層的融化，令上面的冰下滑。兩股力量一起決定冰川的移動速度。而Moreno就是世上其中一個移動得最快的冰川，每天往前走約2米！！
一般的冰川你是不可能從肉眼看到它的移動，但在這裡，移動的冰塊會令冰川的前端不斷有冰塊掉進湖裏，有時是小塊的冰，有時卻整大片下墜，掉進湖時發出「砰砰」聲的巨响，和濺起浪花，這些情景絕非我粗淺的文筆可以刻劃！一定要現場感受。有興趣的話更可上網看一看Moreno大崩裂的情景。

Dear Leong and Joanna, I am now in QM but I will
leave tomorrow because my operation has to be postponed for a month. The problem
is not on me but my brother. His WBC level a bit higher than normal for repeated
testing. The doctor has to examine his bone marrow in detail and we have to wait
at least two weeks for the report, so my operation is rescheduled...... The
article of your pig is posted on the magazine this week but we are fooled by the
journalist again...... Without you, everything is not that smooth. Come back
